“Trying to motivate and engage fostered young people to attend group workshops has been an arduous task for us; until we met Silver Lined Horizons! Not really knowing where to start I spoke with Natasha who gave me advice on how best to approach it from their experiences. Taking on the advice we managed to increase attendance from 4 young people to 12….amazing stuff! We just told them what we wanted to achieve with the workshop and they took care of the rest on the day. “After sixteen years working in children’s services, one tends to become a bit complacent with how the system works. You feel you know it all and you’re sure you’ve seen this story before. I’m not a fan of training as a rule, but then Silver Lined Horizons invited me on a training session that not only intelligently informed, but also engages and shocks you. For once (quite possibly for the first time) it was possible to see the system and its workings through the eyes of the young people experiencing it. The session that these folks put together was something I would recommend to everyone whether you work with children in care or not.
