Background

Haringey Virtual School were looking to set up a new programme PETE (Post 16 Education Training and Employment), an initiative to ensure that all their Year 11’s, Education, Employment and Training destinations were monitored, tracked and supported as they transition from Children in Care Services to the Young Adults Service.

We ran two focus groups to explore the ideas, views and experiences that Year 11 young people have regarding the development of the PETE project and potentially the role that they could play in the programme’s development. We used a variety of creative facilitation techniques to ensure young people had a platform to have a voice and influence over the programme direction.
